Camila Proto (Porto Alegre, 1996) é artista, pesquisadora e tradutora.
Com uma prática situada entre investigação e fabulação, desenvolve metodologias poéticas e paraficções de campo atentas ao que permanece latente no mundo — na terra e na língua — desdobrando-se em instalações multimídia, esculturas participativas e filmes-ensaio.
Doutora em Artes Visuais pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, foi ganhadora do XVII Prêmio Açorianos de Artes Plásticas (2025, Porto Alegre), na categoria Jovem Artista, do Edital Conexão Oceanos da Fundação Boticário e UNESCO (2025, Rio de Janeiro), e do 6º Prêmio Aliança Francesa de Arte Contemporânea (2023, Porto Alegre). Realizou residências artísticas nacionais e internacionais, como na Casa Belgrado (2025, Buenos Aires), no Centre Intermondes (2024, La Rochelle), na Listening Academy (2024, Berlim) e no Festival KinoBeat (2024, Porto Alegre). Entre as exposições realizadas, destacam-se as individuais Testemunhos da Terra, em parceria com Anelise De Carli (2024, Museu de Arte Contemporânea do Rio Grande do Sul), maréeécrit (2024, Centre Intermondes) e TERRALÍNGUA (2023, Museu de Arte do Rio Grande do Sul).
Camila Proto (Porto Alegre, 1996) is an artist, researcher, and translator.
With a practice situated between investigation and fabulation, she develops poetic methodologies and field parafictions attentive to what remains latent in the world — in the land and in language — unfolding into multimedia installations, participatory sculptures, and essay films.
She holds a PhD in Visual Arts from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and was the winner of the XVII Açorianos Prize for Visual Arts (2025, Porto Alegre), in the Young Artist category, the Conexão Oceanos Grant from the Boticário Foundation and UNESCO (2025, Rio de Janeiro), and the 6th Alliance Française Prize for Contemporary Art (2023, Porto Alegre). She has participated in national and international artistic residencies, such as at Casa Belgrado (2025, Buenos Aires), Centre Intermondes (2024, La Rochelle), Listening Academy (2024, Berlin), and the KinoBeat Festival (2024, Porto Alegre).
